What started as a childhood hobby, has now flourished into a small business. Onisha Artworks came into being April 2006. It has since undergone major website redesign as of April 2007. My vision for Onisha Artworks is to create a small business that reflects my passion for beadwork and unique jewelry art, and for art itself. Art is an expression of perceived beauty and to be able to share it with others is a delight. I invite you to browse through each of my creations and to take note of the details involved with each piece.

Some of you have asked me where I come up with my designs and color coordinations, and I must say, it is pure inspiration. Below is a blog of my thoughts about designs, beads, colors and other 'jewels' of thoughts. Find out where I've gotten special beads. Materials Used

I use only high quality glass beads, stones, semi-precious gems, pearls, and Swarovski crystals in the products. For the earring hooks and clasps, I use either sterling silver (0.925), or stainless steel. Please read the Care Storage Tips under "Order" for instructions on preserving the integrity of the product.

New creations

I'm always looking for creative ways to capture color and beauty in unique designs. Whether it be picking a bead for it's unique sheen, shape or colour, or adjusting the sequencing of a creation, I 'play' with the creation until it meets what I hope to see when it forms. Some new creations will include:

Loop thread sterling silver earring hooks - adjust to whatever length you wish!

All with a plethora of colours, shapes, sizes and types of beads.

Personalized Lanyards

Unique at Work

After several requests from co-workers whether I will make personalized lanyards for them, I have decided that yes I will. Each person in my work place is required to wear a name tag either clipped to clothing or hanging from a generic lanyard. Now most of the females find the generic lanyards boring or even 'ugly' and would much prefer a necklace style lanyard. Secondly, because everybody has to wear the same type of nametag, making a personalized lanyard gives each person their own flare at work.

So, with each lanyard I make, I create a unique piece to the taste of the person. Same as with each of my creations, not one lanyard will be the exact same as another in style, color and design. People can choose to have just their initials weaved in the lanyard or their first name.

New Blog
This blog replaces what used to be found on the 'specials' page in order to highlight more of the inspirational thoughts behind my creations. Why did I remove the 'specials?' I found it difficult to feature one special product because each of my creations are unique on its own. As I mentioned on the homepage, no two creations will be alike in color and beads. When you purchase an Onisha Artworks Creation, you are the only person with that one-of-a-kind jewellry. Once an item is sold, there will not be another just like it. That is what makes each piece so special, and worth highlighting.
